ROYGBIV (2017)
This installation was created during a short-term Artist Residency at the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington (Arlington, VA). I collected donated clothing, undergarments, bed sheets, and other textiles from women. The fabric itself is imbued with a range of untold personal, cultural, and political histories, but the specific stories are eschewed by deconstructing and reassembling them from a new palette of materials. My hope was that viewers would infer narratives and make associations based on their own histories and experiences.
