Video Projection: Negentropy (11:04)
L'Echappe Belle was a video and ephemeral sculptural installation that was exhibited in Cut Up, a group show in Pont-Aven, France while I was studying abroad in my Junior year of undergraduate study. In this installation, the walls surrounding an emergency staircase are entirely covered with painted-white cardboard. Diluted paints, inks and other pigments are dripped and splashed onto the cardboard-covered walls from the highest points of the installation. At the bottom of the staircase, the vibrant ink trails gradually fade to entirely white, where a video, Negentropy, is projected onto the surface. The video loop is an experimentation in color and texture, created using the same pigments that cover the cardboard walls around the staircase.
